March 27-29, 2014
Woodcock Building, Salish Kootenai College Pablo, MT
“I just really want to thank the Montana Arts Council and OPI for putting together the art therapy workshop for us. It was absolutely wonderful to gather with other art teachers across the state and connect at a professional and personal level. Jennifer was a heartfelt presenter and brought so much to us. After 29 years of teaching I finally felt connected!”

Goal: To give art teachers hands-on techniques and new strategies based in art therapy to take back into the classroom that help American Indian students achieve personal development goals.
Description: Through a series of thought-provoking questions, journal writing, small group sharing and art-making, teachers will receive an introduction to art therapy techniques, discovering new ways to help students access creative responses for personal development and enhance problem-solving skills, while fulfilling Montana Standards for visual art education in the classroom.
